Anna University, established on September 4, 1978, is named after Dr. C.N. Annadurai, a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The university promotes research, knowledge dissemination, and collaboration between academia and industry. It was formed by integrating four renowned institutions in Chennai:
- College of Engineering (CEG) – Established in 1794
- Alagappa College of Technology (ACT) – Established in 1944

By Taxi/Auto-rickshaw:
